Frequently Asked Questions
What number do I call?
Call 0800 568 856 for instant support!
Can I call at any time?
The helpline is open every day of the year from 9am to 9pm.
Who answers the phone?
When you call, trained Parenting Support Workers answer the phone. They are experts in all things parenting, have the necessary knowledge, experience and easy to implement tips. You can trust them and their knowledge which helps hundreds of parents every month.
They will help you take the guesswork out of parenting.
Are the helpline workers trained?
Absolutely. Our telephone support workers are all trained to a high standard so that they’re able to help with any parenting issue. They can help you with a toddler tantrum, aggressive 8 year old and a teen with a drug problem in one call.
Is the helpline confidential?
Yes, everything you share will stay with the telephone support worker.
The only exceptions to confidentiality is during supervision (when the helpline workers get support and make sure their standard of work is high) though they will never share any identifying details about you (the caller).
There are also exceptions to confidentiality if someone is at risk of harm to their life or health.
Do you have counsellors?
We do! We offer affordable counselling appointments in-person and over Zoom, so you can get professional counselling support wherever you live in Aoteaoroa.
How much does it cost?
Our helpline is completely free!
